The short answer is yes. However, what does that really mean in terms of fire performance? Polyiso ci products are subjected to a variety of fire tests which address different aspects of fire performance. Three key fire tests that impact how Hunter Xci polyiso can be used are ASTM E84, UL 263, and NFPA 285. ASTM E84 is a product test for flame spread and smoke development. UL 263 is an assembly test which assigns an hourly rating to a wall assembly based on its ability to withstand fire from either the interior, exterior, or both. NFPA 285 is a large-scale pass/fail assembly fire test which is required for Type I-IV buildings that contain certain combustible components in the wall assembly. If the assembly meets the stringent criteria of NFPA 285 it is considered to be acceptable for non-combustible construction.
